Sixth Form prepare for vital Parents' evening

Sixth form students are urged to come to Parents' evening, reports Lindsey Alimodian.

With the recent mock exams done and dusted, Sixth Form students once again face Parents’ evening with no time to spare as it approaches this Thursday, 2 March.

This year, the focus for both year groups is to discuss their progress not just from the recent mock exams, but also throughout their chosen A Level subjects.

For Year 13 students, pressure was added due to an extra target implemented in their goals: to work towards their plans for university – for those who don’t plan to attend university, Parents’ evening will be a chance for teachers to ask them what other things they’ll do, and whether or not an apprenticeship is an option.

For Year 12 students, having jumped from GCSE to A Level, they will get to see how well they have adjusted. They will review their progress with their teachers, as well as learning of any potential improvements.

Parents’ evening is also a chance for students in both year groups to reflect on their strategies for completing their work, whether it’d be coursework, homework or classwork.

Mrs Brattle, the Head of Sixth Form said: “It’s good to see parents face to face.”
