RNS Students Stand Up and Speak Out
Year 9 Citizenship students have been working on an anti-bullying campaign and would like to address the RNS community. The following article is the work of Mwangala Sikwibele, Mollie Prowse, Demi Smith and Joel Haines. The article was edited by Mr Casciaro.

Bullying – when someone chooses to alienate, intimidate or show aggressive behaviour towards an individual.
Bullying facts
‘Over 3.2 million children are bullied every year.’ This means that the majority of children have ben bullied at least one in their lives.
‘Approximately 160,000 teens skip school every day because of bullying.’ A lack in attendance could mean that they’re less likely to achieve in education.

Not many people actually realise how much of a serious impact bullying can have on the victim.
‘Bullied victims often feel lost, trapped, helpless and worthless.’
‘No one sees the tears they shed in the privacy of their bedroom or the ones they cry inside.’
Next time you witness something wrong don’t just stand there, help them. Stand up to the bully regardless of what they might say. Make a difference in someone’s life. Stand up, speak out.
