The students of Robert Napier were visited this month by Justin Somper, author of the Vampirates series and the Allies and Assassins fantasy books.

Justin gave his entire day to us as groups of students met with him and enjoyed interacting throughout the day.

The Reading Champions, already established Justin Somper fans, were lucky enough to have a small audience with Justin down at Gillingham library where he shared some interesting ideas about where he gets character names and even took down some student names for future novels. Justin then signed copies of his new book and the Reading Champs received their copies two weeks before the novel was officially launched.

Justin was good enough to visit The Book Thieves that lunchtime for an informal chat about all things literature before visiting the Robert Napier library in the afternoon with a larger group.

Students were inspired and have already been creating book trailers for Allies and Assassins to encourage other students to pick up the adventure novel.
