Yesterday, our year 12 students took part in the annual Army Day Challenge. It was great to see how competitive the students were and how they worked as a team and communicated with one another, impressing the team leaders who later commented: "We always look forward to coming to RNS as it is one of the best schools we attend, students and staff are always polite, and we are always made to feel welcome." What a great testament to our staff and pupils! Thank you to the Army for providing a challenging and educational session. British Army #ArmyDay #armychallenge

Students and staff continue to show green-fingered commitment to the school outdoor areas. Our flagpole planters that sit in the centre of the site have had a beautiful makeover, thanks to Mrs Elliott and a team of year 7s who helped plant the donated lilies, and year 11s who helped with the tough weeds! A big thank you to Mrs Pattenden for the beautiful donated plants! "Thanks to lots of staff donations, and student time, we have completed another project to improve the environment for all," said Mrs Elliott. "But we are not finished yet. Generosity has been amazing and the new garden areas are benefiting both staff and students."

Our new Nexus Centre was home to the Tuesday Book Club yesterday. There was a lot of quiet reading (and munching) going on from both staff and students. Book Club is held every Tuesday lunch time in its new location - the Nexus Centre, which is our reimagined library hub for literacy, resources and study on the ground floor of the Caxton Building.

New Starters: For all students joining us in year 7 next September, we are holding a Transition Info Evening on Thursday 19th June, 4-7pm. Booking link below The evening will offer an opportunity for parents, carers and accompanying students to meet some of our staff and ask any questions you may have about life at RNS. You will also be able to sign up to our Taster Day (Thursday 3rd July), when students will attend RNS for some lessons - plus we will be offering two Summer School dates (across Thursday 28th August & Friday 29th August) which aim to help new starters feel more familiar with the school, get to know classrooms and teachers, plus add to a smooth transition experience.
