  • Stretch and Challenge Summer Competition

    This summer residents of the South East will come  to Rochester to help celebrate the birthday of one of our most important and oldest historical artefacts: the Magna Carta. This document, which shaped the political landscape of Britain, turns 800 this year! Did you know that Rochester Castle played a role in the signing of the Magna Carta? They will be celebrating this all summer with their Summer of Siege.

  • Winning Words 2015

    Fantasy was the theme for Winning Words 2015 – the annual writing competition open to the whole school. The overall winner this year was Eagle Jessica Carey (Year 11) for her short story that told of dark fantastical worlds, friendship, deceit and honour.

    Outgoing Head Boy Ryan Filtness is the worthy recipient of the Alison Hinge Community Award for 2015. His work for the RNS Community and beyond were initially acknowledged by his nomination for the award and then by his claiming the majority of the staff vote.

    The Challenger Troop Awards Evening took place last week and Robert Napier were represented by eight students – accompanied by Mrs Alder and Mrs Wright. Families of the troop also made their way to the presentation held at Meadowfields School in Sittingbourne.

    Robotics Day took place at University of Greenwich, Chatham Campus in the Pilkington building lecture theatre. Students from Robert Napier represented the school and took part in a variety of challenges.

  • Pennies for the Pig

    At Robert Napier there is a strong tradition of fundraising for charity and supporting good causes. In recent years, Mrs Cleall has pioneered the Pennies for the Pig scheme; a house competition where forms raise money in small change to support a local charity.

    Each form has their own pig and the onus is on students to put any spare pennies into the form pig as regularly as they can. The pigs will be collected next week and it will soon be announced on this page which house has raised the most money. We will also be able to announce the total amount raised by the students and staff of RNS.
